Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385 bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative , patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department. Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation,joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
Responsible for strategically planning and implementing visits to physicians, physician office staffs and other potential referral sources throughout the primary and secondary markets in an effort to increase the selection of the facility’s service lines based on its high levels of clinical quality and service. Should focus on referral sources who may select their pre-defined service line/lines. Will be required to maintain a minimum number of visits on a weekly basis.
Report on the activity level and outcomes of activities on a regular basis.
Work on plans to resolve service line issues, timelines for resolution and also innovative ideas/plans which will foster growth.
Provide intelligence to appropriate hospital departments as to process improvements requested or suggested by physicians.
Thoroughly understand physician referral patterns, more specifically where they chose to refer/do their procedures and why.
Create a list of appropriate physicians designated for follow-up. The list should contain a mix of physicians who utilize the service line and those who may select other facilities. .
Assist in the development of service line marketing plans.
Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital’s and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses within defined service lines. Should be the go-to source for knowledge within your assigned service lines.
Serve as a resource for the hospital in the development and implementation of physician recruitment and retention plans. Work to redirect in market physicians and help with onboarding of new physicians who will work within service lines.
Monitor physician patterns of utilization of the facility for the purpose of identifying process improvement opportunities.
Document all activities and issues in appropriate PRM tool. Manage issue resolution or coordinate with hospital physician Liaison or appropriate director to resolve issues and communicate the resolution to appropriate stakeholders.
Bachelors degree in Marketing/Sales or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare
At least 5 years of experience in a related field such as physician relations, network development, medically-related sales, or a similar role in a hospital or other healthcare setting with progressive experience.
Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel.
