Position Information

This position is currently being recruited under two separate postings, as a Bioinformatics Programmer 2 (job #17926262) and a Bioinformatics Programmer 3 (job #17926680), and will be filled accordingly based on qualifications. The Institute for Integrative Genome Biology at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a Bioinformatics Programmer in the newly established Metabolomics Core Facility. Responsibilities will include performing complex statistical procedures on metabolomics datasets and developing tools and workflows for high throughput data processing, curation, and visualization.

Education

Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in biological science, computational/programming, or related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Master's degree in statistics, computer science, bioinformatics, or related discipline. Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement Minimum of 2 years of related experience. Required Expertise in the programming language R. Required Experience working with high-resolution LC-MS or GC-MS datasets. Required Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required Strong, broad background in multivariate statistical procedures for omics datasets, ideally within a biological context. Preferred Proficiency in multiple programming languages and platforms in addition to R, such as C++ and HTML. Preferred Prior experience with flux balance analysis and network modeling. Preferred Experience creating web-based bioinformatics tools. Preferred
