Performs clerical work in the Office of the Clerk of Circuit Court. Issues marriage licenses, subpoenas, and notary public applications; administers oaths; processes civil suits. Inputs all data relating to documents filed in case files into automated indexing system. Records land records, assumed names certificates and military discharge paperwork. Prepares a variety of simple and routine reports. Scans and indexes deeds, wills, and other documents. Attends court sessions; swears witnesses in; tags exhibits; records and transcribes proceedings. Types abstracts of convictions for the Division of Motor Vehicles. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two or more years related experience and/or training in a clerical environment, preferably in the legal field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree preferred.
