About this position:
Position is Exempt, Full-Time Regular. Salary is Grade 81, minimum $30.56 hourly, DOE.
The UAF Office of Management and Budget (OMB) focuses primarily on budget development in alignment with UAF and UA strategic plans; collaborates frequently with UAF departments, the Office of Finance & Accounting (OFA), and Planning, Analysis, and Institutional Research (PAIR) to produce and interpret data or reports necessary for UAF leadership to make a variety of resource allocation decisions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required for this Position:
Extensive knowledge of project management/process improvement.
Demonstrated experience with business and data analysis.
Ability to decipher requests for information and formulate appropriate responses to such requests.
Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to create concise comprehensive reports appropriate for an executive level audience.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
Ideal candidates must be highly collaborative, possess a strong customer service orientation, will think creatively, and will be an effective communicator in person and in writing. Ideal candidates will understand how to analyze performance relative to identified metrics, analyze data, and make recommendations based on results.
Ability to implement complex strategies and plans; formulate unique and creative solutions for complex problems.
Leadership and project management skills including facilitating diverse groups of individuals to collaboratively achieve consensus. Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary project teams and respond to deadlines effectively.
Able to set and shift priorities, to follow through, to complete tasks with metrics for success.
Highly organized and self-directed; demonstrate initiative.
This position must work well as part of a team and be able to lead a team/demonstrate advanced leadership skills. This position will make recommendations to management. This position must be able to understand and communicate UAF's vision and strategies in various formats. This position will facilitate special projects and initiatives for campus leadership.
Develop work plans for staffing, tracking, controlling and directing projects following established project management guidelines. Promote and build effective working relationships within the OMB/Administrative Services division, across the UAF campus, and with Statewide (or other MAUs) for process analysis.
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred.
Knowledge of formal project management methodologies (e.g. Project Management Body of Knowledge or equivalent).
Education and/or Training Required for This Position:
Four to five years experience in a multidisciplinary, cross-departmental business or government environment.
Two to five years’ experience in project management/process improvement, design and development, project planning and review.
Type and Length of Experience Required for This Position:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 4 - 5 years progressively responsible professional experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent process-oriented certification is preferred.
